Getting ready to go through the Kohler Command Pro 25 engine in pieces I bought the other day, it's for a special project lol. :topsecret

I'm putting it here because it is the same basic engine design as the Kohler 20HP in the 520 XI, they are even covered in the same service manual.

I have all of the covers and some other parts soaking in the parts washer. I'll be taking apart what isn't already apart and starting from the beginning then put it back like new. I also need to take a good inventory of what's there and what's missing before I make the Kohler order for gaskets, seals, pistons, rings, etc. :thumb

What was in the parts washer is cleaned, dried, and what parts of it that can be blasted are ready for blasting. The parts washer has round 2 in it to soak until Monday. Looks like most of it should be cleaned up Monday as long as the front door and phone stays quiet, it may be Tuesday lol. :tounge2

The 1st group of cleaned parts have been blasted. All that's left to do on this group is putting the magnets back on the flywheel, and a little cam + crank polishing. Now I'm back off to the parts washer and more scrubbing. :thumb1

Group 2 is out of the parts washer, cleaned and dried. I still have to pull the heads all apart, do a better cleaning and check them out. I've also found a few broken bolts to deal with, and a lot of missing bolts I think. >(

Also... If anyone has a minute can you let me know where that 3rd valve cover is supposed to go... :rolling

The block and bolts are all cleaned up and blasted so the cleaning is done. :woo

Now I'm on to making a list of all the missing bolts and such, that's the bad about buying engines in boxes. :doh

Kohler order came in today. I don't know whether to be excited or not... That many Kohler packages don't come cheap so I guess I'll be excited now and less excited when the bill comes in next month. I'm just blessed to be a dealer or I would be an unhappy camper lol. :yank :laughing

Among the mess I got into here are 2 new heads, 1 valve cover, the entire valve train (valves, springs, pushrods, lifters, rockers, and all bolts + keepers), pistons, rings, gaskets, governor kit + gear, several shims, several special bolts, a few choke + throttle linkage parts, air filter kit, breather hose, and some other little things. One thing is for sure, it will be done right. :thumb1
