I been thinking about this one today and came up with a couple of ideas not really sure what one i will use
maybe you guys can let me know if i am over thinking it or what you all have done.
I have a tecy H70 that must be put on its plate. As you all know it has the tapped holes going into bottom of its alumimun block
i never been a fan of this i would much rather use a bolt and lock nut to hold down a engine.
with the heating / cooling of the alumimun, the vibration of it running, and the fact that its alumimun so i am not really wanting to over tighten it.
over time i see it comming loose.
1. lock washer, flat washer & good wrenching tight-? ...... use lock tight also..?
2. lock washer, flat washer, 1/16' teflon washer & good wrenching tight-? ...... use lock tight also..?
3. star washer, teflon between engine and plate & good wrenching tight-? ...... use lock tight also..?
4. cupped spring washer & good wrenching tight-? ...... use lock tight also..?
stop me before i go on for ever

I'd just go with a split washer on the bolt side and a flat on the nut side. If you want you can get a lock nut.

its a blind tapped hole that goes into the bottom of the alumimun carnkcase... there aint no nuts in this picture

Except us John.
I would do a flat and lock washer, Medium (blue) Loctite, watch it, but 12-14 lbs of torque if it feels good. That's what the procedure is for the GM calipers.

I second Geno's reply , the blue Loctite is the best. Leave the red Loctite for your Harley.

Ok
sounds like i have to get the name brand stuff on this one " Medium (blue) Loctite "
i am starting to watch costs so i was going to use the " generic baby blue lock tight "
so here is the setup i came across some flange head bolts gr8 and some very nice star washers gr8 also this combo his me feeling good
i will filp it over and wash the holes out with brake cleaner, and LIGHTLY ring the bolt threads with blue "" loctite""
BUT just because GM uses this i still aint putting no bow-tie on my horse....
i was thinking someone would see nuts in this picture if it played long enough.
