Hello all,

This is another restoration that I finished a good while back. It moves at 40 mph top speed in third gear, over 8,000 RPM Tillotson fully custom engine.

- 70mm Reinforced Tillotson Block (New to the 212R)

 

- Tillotson JT-207 Head(same as 196R) Modified for bigger valves

 

- 27mm Intake Valve

 

- 25mm Exhaust Valve


- Automotive keepers with 36lb valve springs

 

- PK-3A (New to the 212R)

 

- Hi-Flow Stock Airbox and Exhaust

 

- Governor delete

 

- 356 DC cam

 

- 70mm Bore

 

- Flat Top piston (More Compression than any other stock 212 or 196)

 

Tillotson 212r re-assembly torque specs:

 

Forged Connecting rod (stock): 150 inch lbs
Side cover bolts: 204 inch lbs
Head bolts: 204 inch lbs
Rocker studs: 204 inch lbs (NOT rocker arm adjusters!)
Rocker adjuster nuts: 94 inch lbs
Flywheel nut: 54 foot lbs
Valve lash (for intake AND exhaust valves): .003

Very cool restore and some nice upgrades, I especially like the doghouse flying Snoopy decals.  

I know you spend a lot of time in College, studying, homework, etc.  Where do you find the time for all this, do you sleep lol.

Working on tractors is probably the most stress relieving hobby that I know. The majority of my time is indeed spent on lovely coursework and tutoring other students, but every free chance I get... I am digging in to some tractor. Weekends are usually extremely busy for me.

I've sold quite a few restored items as well... (I still have the Tecumseh HH120 that I restored... I would only sell that to someone who needs or wants an excellent engine). I've sold SCAG machines... a craftsman model riding mower, worked on Lawn Boy mowers... the list goes on and one. (BTW, I'm not bragging, but you did ask... LOL)

It's been a couple of years since I started working on these Wheel Horse machines. I also spent a good deal of time at the previous forum that I was on helping other members with engines among other topics. I can honestly say that my (however limited) knowledge of these machines engines and fueling systems has helped a good bit of people, that is what it is all about.

I find it all quite relaxing (when it's a good thing)...

I also work on trucks... build lot's of other things... work on the golf cart... not to mention 2 John Deere machines that constantly fall apart... LOL

I'm always looking for something to advance myself in knowledge, learn something new about some machine or engine.

Electrical is where I fall short. I can rebuild electrical systems with the help of diagrams and such... but my knowledge of electrical ends there. Engines are more my thing...
