Looking at a new truck…

I’m thinking it’s about time to send my 2001 ranger down the road and get some new wheels. Found this gem, 1984 F250 with the 6.9 idi diesel and c6 transmission. 125k miles on the truck and no rust. Looked up a report of the vin to see 3 people owned. The first two apparently only drove it in the summer with a camper which explains the low miles and great shape it’s in.

That looks like a winner, less computer gizmos to go bad. My DEF system just required 1600$ in repair. The computer will shut you down if you don't fix it in 150miles.

I think a good diesel shop can take it off and reprogram the computer for a lot less than that can't they?

You get into federal issues so you have to do it yourself, the Feds are trying to outlaw the software too.
Problem was I was to far from home to do anything myself. Only option would have been leaving the camper and having the truck towed, which would have cost allot to.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.
