How not to run your throttle cable...

I'm taking a 314 apart back here and thought some of you may like to see how NOT to run your throttle cable...

yes we all know that it goes behind the belt, what do you take us for a bunch of rookies?

If it weren't for previous owners, there wouldn't be anything to fix!!

i understand it now that guy was on to something.
he made it part of the safety system. or
this might be a rare wheelhorse test model proto type.
think about this:
if the belt brakes or jumps off the pulley, by design it gets warped up in the throttle cable
and shuts down the engine, this is pure genius!

This poor thing will take an extra day for sure... The cable is already rerouted, I'm lucky it was long enough. I guess I lost the extra safety system though. :rolling

Just got a look at the photo of the throttle cable routing. Nothing surprises me when it comes to restoring something that has been around a while.
