The tester was torn down yesterday, all the rough edges smoothed out, everything blasted again, prepped and ready for paint. It only takes about 10 mins to take it all apart.
There was 1/2 gallon of Krylon IH red in the back so that did the red pieces, the rest is a heavy silver metallic and Seymour Cast Blast used in machine shops to paint stained cast iron. It's starting to look really good now and the implement paint should be dry enough to put it back together next week.

Had a little time to start putting the tester back together today.
The brake band and where the motor sits were lined with self stick 1/4" thick rubber. Once tightened down it will never move and stop any vibration. The guy I wire the mini semis for gave it to me a long time ago. It's from the Ford plant he worked at in Louisville years ago. I have a big box of the stuff, they are leftovers from inner firewall cut outs.
It's all wired up and works great. I started on the Tach-a-matic today. It will need a slight modification, more on that next time.

Went out for lunch and to the Chiropractor today and she said take it easy today so I finished up a lot on the renamed Wheel Horse multi-function tester.
First the hitch pin that was to be used to mount front ends was cut down so it would fit with the Tach-a-matic fully assembled. It didn't have to be but this keeps me from having to search for it when needed... Next was bending a Wheel Horse rod from something parted out to make it easy to remove the bottom Tach-a-matic catch. It has to be removed to get the front end pin in and out as seen in the first pic. It worked out really good and both pins have handles now to make them easy to remove.
A plate was also made from 3/16" steel and bolted to the top of the frame to put magnetic trays on to keep up with things related to the tester. It all works perfect and is ready to do it's original intention of testing rearends, along with a lot of other things.
I have a few other small plans for it but they will have to wait for now. I have to get back to work as well as doing more parting, and do something with these parts all over the place.

I planned on putting a slide out drawer about half way through building this to hold a drain pan for rearends, or to hold tools when doing other things. I bought the slides on May 22 this year so they've only been here for a little over 5 months, not too bad for me...
I got started on it this past Wed (10-22) and finished it up today. The pics are pretty self explanatory and will be broken up over the next 3 posts so make the page load faster. It started out with some 1 1/4" square tubing to fit the rail and keep the self cutting screws inside it when the rails were mounted.

After the slides were mounted it was time to fit the shelf. I wanted as big a shelf as possible going from end to end so 2 pieces of angle iron were added on the opposite end to hold the shelf on the front end. After that 2 pieces of angle iron were cut to mount to the last slider section. They mounted to the vertical slots in the slide so the shelf could be adjusted up and down. The plan was for the shelf to sit right on the outer part of the slide for extra strength.

Next up was adjusting and testing the shelf sliding. Once it was right it got 4 spot welds to hold everything in place so 4 holes could be drilled to bolt it on. All of the bolts and nylocks are what is used to mount the lever style choke and throttle levers on the tractors.
After all that was done it was time to take it all back apart for some cleanup, blasting, and painting.

After the paint dried enough it was all put back together. It will stay on the bench tonight + tomorrow in front of the mini split to dry out really good and be ready for use on Monday. One more thing off the list.
